Last weeks 3rd progress meeting of the ProSafe doctoral network was hosted by NTNU onboard the postal ferry from Trondheim into the polar circle. Just like the northern lights give a glimpse of the strong energy carried by solar winds, the meeting provided an overview of the highly innovative efforts of the 11 doctoral candidates.
The project covers a broad selection of focus topics reaching from structured analysis of quantitative risk assessment methodologies to system identification by cutting edge AI solutions from Machine Learning and symbolic AI as well as the advanced use of LLMs for safety studies and system analysis.
In connection with the ProSafe programme, Kairos had the pleasure of hosting Julien Amblard of Imperial college London and Jingkang Liang of DTU during 2025 to exchange on our approaches to capturing causality and supporting HAZOP studies. We are looking forward to deepening the collaborations and hosting more ProSafe DC’s in 2026.
ProSafe is a European Training Network initiative that brings together top-level academic institutions and industrial partners to undertake research and training with the aim to significantly improve safety and productivity in high hazard industries.
